Japan Stigmatized Property 3 Vision-Mode Anomalies

Dual sensors, dual lies

Japan Stigmatized Property 3 tells you up front: some phenomena are visible only through night vision, others only on the standard camera. Officers who pick a favorite mode and marry it will eventually watch four concurrent anomalies stack while their preferred filter looks “fine.”

What “mode-exclusive” means in practice

• Standard-only — the scare sits in the Normal feed and washes out or vanishes under W
• Night-vision-only — the Normal feed looks clean while W reveals silhouettes, stains, orbs, or intrusion shapes
• Both-visible — still verify both modes; exclusives are common enough that skipping a mode is malpractice even when many events show in either view

Randomization means you cannot memorize a fixed “camera 3 is always NV-only tonight.” You memorize a sweep, not a spoiler list.

The non-negotiable sweep

On every camera in your rotation:

1. Read the standard frame against your midnight baseline
2. Toggle night vision with W (or the mobile equivalent)
3. Read the NV frame against the same baseline questions: presence, absence, pose, light, noise
4. If either mode shows a real change, hold-report on the mode that proved it (How to Report)
5. Advance with A/D—do not stay sightseeing because NV looks cinematic

Co-op pairs can split labor (one owns NV sweeps, one owns standard + thermal confirmation), but nobody gets to delete a mode from the property forever (Thermal Camera).

How mode laziness causes each fail type

• Fail A (four concurrent misses) — exclusives incubate on cameras you “already checked” in one mode
• Fail B (false reports) — you report NV grain or compression artifacts you never compared to the standard baseline

Audio still outranks fashion filters

If knocks or moans fire, find the dangerous feed even mid-sweep (Dangerous Anomalies). Finish dual vision on that camera immediately; do not roleplay cinematographer.

Property vibes (not spoiler maps)

• Sugiya Ryokan — clutter hides standard-light changes; NV helps edges but also invents scary noise in wood grain
• Blue House — lighting tricks punish NV-forever players who miss standard-only bulb or silhouette plays
• Kannonzaki Park — outdoor distance makes NV tempting; still confirm Normal for daylight-looking props that only break in one mode
• Y Residence — theatrical set dressing tempts over-reporting under NV scare bias

Full-frame and urgency anomalies

Series training notes remind officers that some events blanket the entire view—report anywhere in frame—and that certain threats punish long idling harder. Mode exclusives can combine with those rules. When the whole monitor is wrong, stop debating grain aesthetics and report.

Training drill (ten in-game minutes)

1. Enter Normal on any property
2. For one full rotation, forbid yourself from reporting until both modes are checked
3. On the second rotation, allow reports but log which mode proved each find
4. Review the log—if every “prove” was the same mode, you are developing a blindfold

Co-op callouts that prevent double-blindness

Say the mode out loud: “Camera 2 standard clear, NV checking,” then “NV anomaly, reporting.” Partners should not false-report the same maybe-shape in the other mode without looking. Cross-play phone partners need the same vocabulary (Mobile Guide).

What we will not publish

Exact encyclopedia IDs, guaranteed spawn tables, or claims that a named ghost is “always NV-only on camera 7.” Randomization and patch tweaks would make that fan fiction. Your edge is the sweep.
