How to Play Japan Stigmatized Property 3
Controls, mission rules, and the first-clear loop for new observers.
Your job as a JSP observer
In Japan Stigmatized Property 3 you monitor surveillance cameras on assigned Japanese properties from midnight to 05:00. Anomalies spawn randomly. Report real ones. Avoid false reports. Survive the clock. That is the entire contract with the Japan Stigmatized Property Association, and every advanced tip in this wiki exists to protect that loop under pressure.
JSP3 is not a walking simulator and not a Roblox experience. You sit the desk, cycle feeds, toggle vision modes, and decide whether the frame in front of you is still Normal. The game released on Steam (app 4611990) around August 6–7, 2026 from Loxarc / 日本事故物件監視協会, with mobile versions and online two-player co-op including PC↔mobile cross-play.
Controls you must memorize
On PC, learn these bindings before your first serious clear:
- A / D — switch cameras left and right through the property’s camera ring.
- W — toggle night vision on the current camera.
- Mouse hold-click — begin and complete an anomaly report on the active feed.
- Esc — open the menu without abandoning situational awareness longer than you must.
Treat camera switching as your primary movement. Treat night vision as a second sensor, not a cosmetic filter. Treat reporting as a deliberate hold, covered in depth on How to Report Anomalies. If you tap and release early, you waste time and create doubt about whether the report registered.
The shift clock and win condition
A successful mission means continuous competent surveillance from 00:00 to 05:00. You do not need a perfect zero-mistake fantasy run on Normal, but you do need to stay inside the fail budgets:
- Missed concurrent anomalies — if four anomalies are active and unreported at once, you fail.
- False reports — Normal allows five; Hazard Pay (特別手当) allows three. Details live on Hazard Pay Difficulty and False Reports.
Those two meters are independent. Players often fixate on ghosts and ignore false-report creep, or they spam reports until the false meter ends them while concurrent stacks were never the real problem. Watch both.
Dual vision is mandatory
Some anomalies are visible only on the standard camera. Others appear only under night vision. Leaving W off for convenience is a self-inflicted blindfold. Leaving W on forever is also wrong, because standard-only events hide while you congratulate yourself for seeing better. Build a habit: arrive on a camera, read the Normal frame, toggle W, read the night-vision frame, then decide. The dedicated Night Vision Guide expands this into a sweep pattern you can run under stress.
Dangerous threats and audio tells
Not every anomaly is equal. Dangerous ghosts often announce themselves with knocks or moans before they become a hard fail if ignored too long. When you hear those cues, abandon leisurely cataloguing and find the hostile feed. The Dangerous Anomalies page explains prioritization; Survive Until Morning folds that priority into a full-night plan.
The four properties
JSP3 features four sites: Sugiya Ryokan, Blue House, Kannonzaki Park, and Y Residence. Do not import mental maps from Japan Stigmatized Property 1’s A邸-style roster. Learn each property’s camera count, dark corners, outdoor versus indoor balance, and which feeds tend to hide night-vision-only events. First clears are easier when you pick one property and stay there until the camera ring feels automatic.
Co-op basics
Online co-op supports two players. Cross-play between PC and mobile means you can pair a Steam client with a phone observer. Co-op adds a thermal camera that helps confirm heat-related threats while a partner covers another angle. Communication beats heroics: call camera names, call vision mode, call knock heard, and never both stare at the same quiet hallway while another feed cooks.
First-session training plan
- Launch on Normal, not Hazard Pay.
- Pick one property and ignore achievement FOMO (32 Steam achievements exist; some need co-op—save them).
- Spend the first twenty in-game minutes only practicing A/D cadence and W toggles without rushing reports.
- Practice one clean hold-click report on a clear anomaly, then deliberately refuse to report ambiguous frames until you verify both modes.
- If you fail, note whether it was four concurrent misses or false reports, then open the matching guide before retrying.
Linking practice to the rest of the wiki
Procedure lives here and in sibling guides. Taxonomy lives under the Anomalies Hub and Anomaly Types. When you can explain why a frame is Normal without guessing, you are ready for Hazard Pay. When you can clear with audio prioritization, you are ready for morning survival drills and co-op thermal splits.
Your first real skill in JSP3 is not bravery. It is disciplined camera literacy under a ticking night.
