Memorize each camera baseline at 00:00

The quiet prologue is your only free study hall. Clutter at Sugiya Ryokan and long park distances at Kannonzaki Park punish officers who skip baselines.

Toggle night vision (W) on every camera pass

Mode-locked anomalies are real. The Night Vision guide explains the concept; the checklist forces the habit. Unticked W is the most common preventable miss.

Listen for knocks or moans before a dangerous ghost

Audio is a warning, not a report. Raise Steam volume early. Esc menu tweaks belong in the first minutes, not during a chase silhouette.

Hold-click only on confirmed changes

False reports wipe Normal after five mistakes and Hazard Pay after three. Read False Reports. The hold-click binding exists to slow you down—use it.

Reset false-report streak with a correct report

After a mistake, prioritize a clean find instead of freezing. The checklist reminds you that recovery is active play.

Finish a full A/D camera rotation every few minutes

Tunnel vision ends shifts. If A/D feels buggy, stop ticking, refocus the window, and consult Controls before you invent a new route.

Never leave four unreported anomalies active

This is a hard fail condition. When the stack climbs, interrupt sightseeing and clear debt.

On Hazard Pay, expect higher spawn rate and only 3 false reports

Browser and privacy notes

Progress is local to the browser profile. It does not upload to the wiki, Steam, or your co-op partner. Clearing cookies or using a private window resets the tool. That is intentional—no account wall for a habit list.

Pairing with achievement grinds

During Completion Route phases, keep this page pinned. Report-all nights especially benefit from forced rotations and NV toggles. Co-op partners can mirror the same checklist so arguments stay about cameras, not about who forgot thermal.

• Checking every box at 00:01 “to save time”
